Roof Garden ASMR Salon:

The salon consists of a field-recording listening experience based around the intersection between technology and nature. The listener is given headphones and provided with a selection of collaged, edited and produced sound collected by the artist. To assist with the meditative audio, the listener is surrounded by a curated white space, and given a screen with visual cues as a means of enhancing the notion of the pastoral. The piece aims to promote an ASMR neural response in the participant.

This exhibition has been produced with assistance from Jemma Hatherill as part of the Glasgow Open House Festival 2017.

About the artist:

Jack Fawcett works predominantly as a sound artist, music producer, DJ and label boss for cassette and digital label Roof Garden Records. He releases works under Sunshower, DJ Supermarket and Mercury. Jack is also a PhD Student in Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde. Previously he completed an MA in Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow. Roof Garden Records was established in 2016, promoting utopian, pastoral, and experimental electronic music from around the world.

Roof Garden was chosen as one of Tiny Mix Tapes favourite labels of 2016.

Field recordings taken from Glasgow, Ayrshire & York.

A controlled escapist environment.
